Commercial Properties We Service in Macomb Township

We build pavement for commercial sites in Macomb Township that need to move traffic, handle turning loads, and stay open without constant patching. The use case drives the design.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where the surface has to support ADA routes, clean striping, and steady customer traffic without breaking up at entrances.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where heavier truck loads demand stronger base support, tighter compaction, and pavement that can take repeated axle pressure.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where access roads and parking areas need good drainage, clear edges, and a finish that holds up under daily resident use.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where lots and drives have to stay functional for public access, emergency movement, and long service life under scheduled maintenance.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Macomb Township Asphalt Paving Standards

Our pavement lasts longer in Macomb Township because we build for the failure points first, not the surface finish. We make water move off the lot, we correct weak base sections before they turn into soft spots, and we use asphalt that stands up to Michigan freeze-thaw cycles. That matters to property managers because early cracking, rutting, and edge breakup usually start below the surface. Fix those conditions up front and you avoid repeat patches, emergency calls, and full-depth repairs that cost more later.

  • Drainage first: We shape the lot so water leaves fast instead of sitting in low areas and working into the pavement. Standing water is what starts most early failures.
  • Base support: We prepare the sub-base so traffic loads spread evenly across the structure. A weak foundation will keep breaking down no matter how good the top course looks on day one.
  • Cold-weather mix: We use materials suited for Michigan freeze-thaw cycles so the pavement can flex without tearing itself apart. That reduces early cracking and keeps maintenance costs lower over time.

Common Asphalt Paving Projects We Handle in Macomb Township

  • Retail lot resurfacing near Hall Road and Garfield: Property managers usually call after the top course has polished, traffic lanes have started to rut, and cart paths or entrance throats are breaking first. We mill the worn surface, check the base at the wheel paths, correct any drainage low points, then place new asphalt at the thickness the site needs so turning traffic stops chewing up the same areas.
  • Industrial apron replacement by 23 Mile and Romeo Plank: Truck routes expose weak spots fast. If the slab edge or asphalt apron has settled next to loading areas, we remove failed sections, rebuild support where the subgrade moved, and tie the new work back into existing pavement with clean transitions. That keeps forklifts, box trucks, and daily deliveries from pounding a soft edge into a larger failure.
  • ADA and access upgrades in Macomb Township: Property managers often need slope corrections at entrances, parking stalls, or walks that drift out of compliance after years of patching. We rework those areas with proper grades, adjust transitions so water does not collect at crossings, and finish the pavement so access routes stay usable without creating trip points or ponding near storefronts.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Macomb Township Projects

Our Macomb Township paving work stays in house from layout to final roller pass, with fully insured W2 crews running company-owned pavers, rollers, and support trucks on every job. We do not hand the work to subcontractors, which lets us control grade, thickness, compaction, and sequencing ourselves, so local property managers get one accountable crew, steady scheduling, and straight answers when field conditions change.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Frequently Asked Questions about Asphalt Paving in Macomb Township

When is the best time to schedule paving?

Late spring through early fall gives us the best window because the base dries out and compacts correctly before we place new asphalt. In Macomb Township, that timing also lowers the chance of cold-ground movement and extra repair work later.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the job so access stays open where it can, then move traffic in sections instead of shutting the whole lot down. That keeps customers and deliveries moving while we work through each area.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We stop water from getting into cracks, low spots, and weak edges before freeze-thaw cycles hit. Once water reaches the base, winter damage grows fast, so early repairs cost less than waiting for a spring failure.
