Recent Asphalt Paving Projects in Grosse Pointe Park

We stay active on commercial paving work across Grosse Pointe Park, helping property managers keep lots stable, drain correctly, and hold up under daily traffic. Explore the map and project pins below to see the jobs we have handled in the field and how that work holds up once trucks, tenants, and winter weather start using the pavement.

Commercial Properties We Service in Grosse Pointe Park

We build commercial pavement for sites that take traffic, turning loads, and water management seriously. In Grosse Pointe Park, the right section, base support, and drainage plan depend on how the property operates day to day.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where asphalt has to keep ADA routes level, hold stall lines, and resist breakup at entrances that take constant braking and turning.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where truck traffic needs a pavement structure built for axle load, bay access, and repeated use without rutting or edge failure.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where drive lanes, guest parking, and fire access need a stable surface that controls cracking before it reaches the base.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where schools, civic buildings, and public lots need clear circulation, safe pedestrian access, and pavement that holds up under steady use.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Grosse Pointe Park Asphalt Paving Standards

Our Asphalt Paving lasts longer in Grosse Pointe Park because we do the work below the surface before we ever place the finish coat. We move water away from the pavement, rebuild soft spots in the sub-base so traffic does not keep working the same weak areas, and use mix that holds up through Michigan freeze-thaw cycles. That is where property managers save money. Fewer early cracks, less edge failure, and fewer patch calls mean the lot stays in service longer and the repair budget does not get eaten up by preventable fixes.

  • Drainage first. We shape grades so water leaves the pavement instead of sitting on it or running into joints and edges. Water is what starts most early failures.
  • Solid base. We correct weak sub-base areas before paving, so the surface has support under load. A lot with a sound foundation does not rut or settle as fast.
  • Cold-weather mix. We use asphalt built for Michigan freeze-thaw cycles, which helps limit cracking and raveling after winter. That keeps owners from paying for repairs sooner than they should.

Common Asphalt Paving Projects We Handle in Grosse Pointe Park

  • Retail lot resurfacing near Mack Avenue and Jefferson, where the top course has polished out, traffic has started to rut the wheel paths, and the entrances break first. We mill the failed surface, inspect curb returns and turning lanes for base movement, then place new asphalt at the right thickness so daily traffic stops chewing up the same spots.
  • Service drive rebuilds along Alter Road and Cadieux Road, where delivery trucks load the edge of pavement and a soft base keeps pushing back through patches. We cut out the weak section, correct the subgrade, tighten drainage at low points, and compact each lift so the repaired drive holds shape under repeated truck use.
  • ADA and access updates tied to parking lot work in Grosse Pointe Park, where managers need compliant slopes at walks, stable transitions at ramps, and clean tie-ins after paving changes. We rework grades before final placement so water moves off the accessible route and the finished surface supports foot traffic without ponding or trip points.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Grosse Pointe Park Projects

Our Asphalt Paving crews in Grosse Pointe Park are our own W2 people, fully insured, working with company-owned pavers, rollers, and support trucks from the first layout check to the final compaction pass. We do not hand the job to subs, so we keep the schedule tight, control the work at every step, and give local property managers one crew that answers directly for grade, thickness, and finish quality.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

  2. Permitting and Logistics We handle permit steps, MissDig coordination, staging, and access timing so your crew can keep the property moving while we prep the work.

Grosse Pointe Park Permits & Codes Handled For You

We handle the paperwork before the first saw cut, so the property manager is not stuck chasing forms or city steps. For work in Grosse Pointe Park, we pull the required Dumpster and ROW permits through the Building Department process, then coordinate MissDig before any excavation starts. That keeps utility marks in place, reduces avoidable delays, and lets us manage the regulatory side while your team stays focused on access, tenants, and the site itself.

Frequently Asked Questions about Asphalt Paving in Grosse Pointe Park

When is the best time to schedule paving?

Late spring through early fall gives us the best window because the base has time to dry and compact properly. In Grosse Pointe Park, that usually means less rework, cleaner edges, and fewer delays from cold ground or wet subgrade.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the work so trucks, tenants, and customers still have access to the property. That often means working in sections, setting clear entry points, and timing saw cuts and paving around peak traffic hours.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We start by fixing drainage so water does not sit on the pavement or soak into weak spots before freeze-up. Once winter hits Macomb, that prep helps limit frost heave, edge breakup, and the cracks that turn into bigger repair bills in spring.
