Scope

Commercial Concrete & Asphalt Replacement

D&J Contracting completed targeted concrete improvements and full-depth asphalt replacement for the Morelli property. The project included a new thickened-edge sidewalk, replacement of 6-inch concrete pavement and curb, and reconstruction of failed asphalt areas using a compacted aggregate base, 1100L binder course, and 5E1 surface course.

OPERATIONAL FLOW

PHASED EXECUTION PLAN

Our systematic approach ensures commercial properties are reconstructed with zero tolerance for error and 100% regulatory compliance.

01

Site Preparation and Traffic Control

Barricades and traffic-control devices were installed as required to secure the designated work areas while maintaining safe movement around the property. Concrete and asphalt perimeters were saw-cut to establish clean, straight vertical edges.

02

Concrete and Asphalt Removal

The designated concrete sidewalk, 6-inch pavement, curb, and failed asphalt sections were broken out, removed, and disposed of. Unsuitable base material beneath the asphalt was also removed where necessary.

03

Base Evaluation and Preparation

Exposed base and subgrade materials were evaluated, shaped, and graded. Asphalt repair areas were proof-rolled with a vibratory roller, and suitable aggregate base was installed and compacted wherever additional stabilization was required.

04

Concrete Installation

D&J installed 4 to 6 inches of 4,000 PSI ready-mix concrete for the new thickened-edge sidewalk, replacement pavement, and curb. The concrete was placed, finished, and graded to align with existing elevations and adjacent surfaces.

05

Full-Depth Asphalt Installation

An SS-1 bond coat was applied as required, followed by the installation and compaction of the 1100L asphalt binder course. The 5E1 asphalt surface course was then installed and compacted to create the finished pavement surface.

06

Joint Sealing and Final Cleanup

The saw-cut transitions between the new and existing asphalt were band-sealed as required. Construction debris, barricades, and traffic-control devices were removed following completion of the work.
