We stay active on commercial asphalt work across Clinton Township, where property managers need pavement that holds traffic, drains correctly, and stays stable under daily use. Explore the map and project pins below to see the jobs we have handled in the field and how that work looks once the rollers leave.

Commercial Properties We Service in Clinton Township

We build commercial pavement for sites that take daily traffic, turning loads, and water intrusion seriously. In Macomb, that means matching the asphalt section to how each property actually works.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where pavement has to support ADA routes, parking stalls, and delivery access without settling at entrances or breaking up at cart paths.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where truck traffic demands stronger base support, thicker sections, and clean transitions at aprons, docks, and drive lanes.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where the surface must stay level for residents, manage drainage near curbs and walks, and limit trip hazards around common areas.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where bus lanes, service traffic, and public access put more strain on the pavement and leave less room for weak spots or poor compaction.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Clinton Township Asphalt Paving Standards

Our Asphalt Paving lasts longer in Clinton Township because we do the unglamorous work first. We move water away from the pavement, rebuild weak spots in the base before they spread, and place mix that can take Michigan freeze-thaw cycles without opening up early cracks. That approach costs less over time because property managers avoid repeat patching, edge failure, and premature replacement on lots that should still be serving traffic.

  • Drainage first: We shape the surface so water leaves the lot instead of sitting in low spots, seams, and edges. Once water gets into the structure, repairs get bigger and more expensive fast.
  • Base work: We correct soft or unstable sub-base areas before paving. A strong surface over a weak foundation only hides the problem for a short time, then settlement shows up at entrances and wheel paths.
  • Cold-weather mix: We use asphalt built to handle Michigan freeze-thaw movement. That helps reduce cracking, raveling, and joint breakdown, which keeps maintenance costs down for owners who would rather spend money once than keep fixing the same lot.

Common Asphalt Paving Projects We Handle in Clinton Township

  • Retail parking lot resurfacing near shopping corridors, where the top course has polished out, wheel paths have started to rut, and entrances are breaking first. We mill the failed surface, verify the base at curb returns and cart paths, then place new asphalt at the right thickness so traffic stops chewing up the same lanes.
  • Warehouse apron replacement for truck traffic, where trailers drag across turning areas and weak spots show up at dock approaches. We cut out the failed section, rebuild the support layer where settlement started, and compact the new pavement hard enough to handle repeated axle loads without pushing the edge apart.
  • ADA and access route updates for properties that need cleaner transitions at walks, ramps, and stall connections. We correct elevation changes, fix drainage that sends water across pedestrian routes, and tie the new surface into existing pavement so compliance work does not turn into a trip hazard later in Clinton Township.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Clinton Township Projects

Our Clinton Township asphalt work stays with our own W2 crews from the first saw cut to the final roller pass, using company-owned pavers, rollers, and support trucks so we control the job instead of handing it off. That keeps the schedule tight, the workmanship consistent, and the accountability direct for property managers who need one crew answerable for base prep, placement, compaction, and cleanup.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Clinton Township Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the paperwork off your plate before the first cut. For Asphalt Paving work in Clinton Township, we handle the required permits with the Building Department, pull Dumpster and ROW permits through the township forms process, and coordinate MissDig before any excavation starts. That keeps utility marks in place, avoids preventable delays, and lets property managers stay focused on the site while we manage the regulatory steps that come with opening pavement.

Frequently Asked Questions about Asphalt Paving in Clinton Township

When is the best time to schedule paving?

Late spring through early fall gives us the best window because the base dries out and compaction holds. In Clinton Township, that usually means fewer delays, cleaner edges, and less risk of paying for rework after cold ground shifts.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the work so traffic can keep moving in sections instead of shutting the whole lot down. That lets customers, tenants, and deliveries keep using the property while we cut, pave, and reopen each area in order.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We stop water before it gets into cracks and weak edges, because freeze-thaw starts there. Heavy plowing and salt do less damage when the surface drains right and the base stays tight through Macomb winters.
