Commercial Properties We Service in Clinton Township

Commercial concrete has to match how each site actually moves people, freight, and water. In Clinton Township, we build for the property type first, because the slab, curb, or walkway fails in different ways depending on traffic, code pressure, and maintenance load.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where ADA routes, entrance pads, and curb returns have to stay level so carts roll clean and trip edges do not turn into liability problems.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where dock aprons, drive aisles, and loading areas need the thickness and support to handle repeated truck movement without breaking at the joints.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where sidewalks, parking edge repairs, and common-area slabs must stay safe for pedestrians while controlling settlement around aging base conditions.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where public access, drainage control, and long service life matter because failures create safety issues and disrupt daily operations fast.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Clinton Township Concrete Contractor Standards

Our concrete lasts longer in Clinton Township because we stop the damage before it starts. We check where water wants to sit, rebuild the support under the slab, and place concrete that can handle Michigan freeze-thaw cycles without opening up at the edges or joints. That matters to property managers because early cracking usually starts below the surface, not on top of it. Fixing drainage and base problems now costs less than tearing out failed panels later.

  • Drainage first: We slope runoff away from the slab so water does not work under the concrete and soften the base. That keeps small cracks from turning into settlement, spalling, and repeat repairs.
  • Base support: We prepare the sub-base so load spreads evenly across the slab instead of hitting weak spots. A solid base reduces pumping, rocking, and premature joint failure.
  • Freeze-thaw mix: We use placement details that hold up through Michigan weather swings. That helps limit edge breakage and surface breakdown, which saves owners from patchwork fixes that never last.

Common Concrete Contractor Projects We Handle in Clinton Township

  • Retail centers near Hall Road often call for broken sidewalk panels, settled curb returns, and entrance pads that trap water at the threshold. We sawcut back to sound concrete, rebuild the base where it has pumped out, reset slope so meltwater drains away from the storefront, and lay out joints to control future cracking before carts and foot traffic work the slab loose again.
  • Industrial properties around 23 Mile and I-94 usually need dock aprons, equipment pads, and loading areas that have failed from truck turning loads and frost movement. We remove the weak section, verify subgrade support, correct drainage at the edge of the pour, then place new concrete with reinforcement and joint spacing matched to the traffic pattern so the repair holds under daily use.
  • ADA updates in Macomb often start with trip edges at walks, uneven ramps, or curb transitions that no longer meet site needs after settlement or plow damage. We rework the affected section to restore grade, tie in cleanly with existing slabs, and finish it so pedestrians move through the route without catching on a lip or fighting ponding water.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Clinton Township Projects

Our Clinton Township concrete work stays in house from layout to cleanup, with fully insured W2 crews and company-owned heavy equipment on every job. We do not hand slab replacement, curb repair, sidewalk panels, or dock aprons to subcontractors, which keeps the finish standard tight, the schedule under our control, and the accountability in one place for property managers who need straight answers and clean execution.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Clinton Township Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the permit work off your plate before excavation starts. Our team handles the paperwork with the Clinton Township Building Department, pulls the required Dumpster and ROW permits through the township portal at https://twpofclinton.com/permits-and-forms, and coordinates Miss Dig at https://www.missdig811.org/ so utility marks are in place before a sawcut or dig line is opened. That keeps your project moving in order, reduces back-and-forth for property managers, and lets us focus on the slab, not on chasing forms.

Frequently Asked Questions about Concrete Contractor in Clinton Township

When should we schedule concrete work?

Spring through early fall gives us the cleanest curing window and fewer delays from cold mornings or wet subgrade. In Clinton Township, that timing also keeps setup costs down because we do not have to fight freeze protection or extra cleanup.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the work so one access point stays usable while the other side is being removed or poured. That matters on sites near Metro Parkway and Garfield Road, where traffic flow and customer access cannot stop for a slab replacement.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We control water first, then rebuild weak support under the concrete so frost has less room to lift or break the slab. Good joint layout and proper drainage reduce spring heave, which is where most winter damage starts in Macomb.
