Commercial Properties We Service in Center Line

We service commercial properties across Center Line and Macomb where winter access has to stay open, legal, and safe for traffic, deliveries, and foot travel.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, clear walks, stalls, and curb ramps fast so customers can park, tenants can open on time, and ADA routes stay usable.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, keep loading docks, drive aisles, and truck maneuver areas open so freight movement does not stall under snow buildup or refreeze.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, maintain resident drives, mail areas, and fire lanes so emergency access stays open and slip hazards do not stack up around shared surfaces.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, protect entrances, parking fields, and public walkways where heavy use demands steady clearing and controlled ice management.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Center Line Snow Removal Standards

Our winter work holds up longer because we treat the lot as a drainage and load-bearing system, not just a surface to clear. In Center Line, freeze-thaw cycles will punish any low spot that traps water, any weak base that shifts under plow traffic, and any pile placement that keeps meltwater against the pavement edge. We plan around those failure points before the first storm. That means cleaner runoff paths, less edge breakup, fewer heaved seams in spring, and fewer repair calls for property managers who do not want to pay twice for the same problem.

  • Drainage first: We keep meltwater moving off the lot so it does not sit in cracks, joints, or curb lines and turn into spring damage.
  • Base support: We work around weak sub-base areas because plow loads expose soft spots fast, and fixing them early costs less than full-depth repairs later.
  • Freeze-thaw fit: We use methods suited to Michigan weather so surfaces shed water and resist the expansion and breakup that drive up maintenance costs.

Common Snow Removal Projects We Handle in Center Line

  • Retail centers near Van Dyke and 10 Mile often need early pushback on the front drives, cart corrals, and curb ramps before the first wave of customers arrives. We stage the lot so meltwater drains away from entrances, keep snow out of fire lanes, and place piles where they do not block sight lines or reduce stall count.
  • Industrial yards along 9 Mile see truck traffic that cannot wait on sloppy plow work. We clear dock aprons, trailer lanes, and employee parking with a pass plan that protects curbs, dock edges, and tight turning areas. If ice starts setting up in the truck path, we treat it before forklifts and semis start breaking it loose.
  • Medical offices and multi tenant sites around the I-696 corridor need clean access for walkers, wheelchairs, and delivery traffic. We open ADA routes first, cut back windrows at crossings, and keep salt use controlled so hardscape joints and concrete surfaces do not take extra damage through repeated freeze thaw cycles.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Center Line Projects

Our Center Line winter work stays in house from the first push to the last salt check. We send our own W2 crews, use company-owned heavy equipment, and keep the job under one chain of command, which gives local property managers direct accountability, tighter scheduling, and a cleaner standard of work because no subcontractor is guessing at site conditions or trying to protect their own margin.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Center Line Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the paperwork off your plate before the first flake hits. For Center Line jobs, we handle the permits and forms tied to the Building Department, including any Dumpster or right of way permits through the city process, and we coordinate with MissDig before any excavation or ground disturbance related to snow storage, drainage checks, or site preparation. That keeps the property manager out of the middle of municipal back-and-forth and lets us keep the lot moving without delays, missed steps, or preventable compliance issues.

Frequently Asked Questions about Snow Removal in Center Line

When should we schedule winter service?

The best time is before the first freeze, while crews can walk the site and mark entrances, stacking areas, and trouble spots without snow cover. In Center Line, that lets us set a clean plan before the season starts instead of trying to solve problems during a storm.

How do you keep our property open?

We work in phases so traffic can keep moving. That usually means clearing main drives first, then loading areas, walks, and curb ramps, with pile placement planned so customers, tenants, and deliveries still have room to get in and out.

How do you reduce winter damage?

We limit blade contact on rough pavement, keep meltwater away from edges where it can refreeze, and avoid stacking snow where it will soak into joints or block drainage. On Macomb sites, that approach cuts down on rutting, curb damage, and spring cleanup costs.
