Snow Removal in Mount Clemens, MI

D&J Contracting is Mount Clemens’s local choice for commercial Snow Removal. We bring 38 years in Southeast Michigan and plan each site around plow paths, ice control, and stack locations that protect curbs and keep traffic moving.

Our crews work with the long view in mind. In Macomb, that means clearing winter access without grinding down pavement or creating drainage problems that show up after the thaw.

Commercial Properties We Service in Mount Clemens

We service commercial properties in Mount Clemens where winter access has to stay open, legal, and safe under real traffic and freeze-thaw pressure.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, clear stalls, curb ramps, and ADA routes fast so customers can park, tenants can open, and meltwater does not refreeze at the entrances.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, keep truck lanes, dock approaches, and turning areas open for heavy loads that cannot wait on windrows or packed snow.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, maintain drives, mail areas, sidewalks, and fire access so residents can move safely and emergency access stays usable.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, manage lots, walkways, and service entries with the control needed for public safety, scheduled operations, and code compliance across Macomb sites.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Mount Clemens Snow Removal Standards

Our Snow Removal lasts longer in Mount Clemens because we plan for what happens after the plow leaves. We keep meltwater moving off the lot, protect the base under the pavement, and use methods that hold up through repeated freeze-thaw cycles. That matters to property managers because the expensive problems usually start after winter service ends, when trapped water turns into heaving, edge breakage, and early patch work. We build around those failure points so the site needs fewer emergency repairs and less corrective work later.

  • Drainage first: We keep snow stacked where runoff can leave the lot instead of pooling at entrances, curb lines, and low spots. That cuts down on ice sheets and keeps water from working into cracks.
  • Base support: We avoid pushing heavy equipment onto weak areas that already move under load. A stable sub-base holds up better against plow traffic and reduces the chance of settlement that leads to spring repairs.
  • Freeze-thaw fit: We use winter methods that match Michigan conditions, so the pavement is less likely to split, heave, or ravel after repeated thaw cycles. That protects your maintenance budget by extending surface life.

Common Snow Removal Projects We Handle in Mount Clemens

  • Retail centers along Crocker and Gratiot need the first push before opening, then a return pass after the morning rush. We clear main drives, cart corrals, curb ramps, and crosswalks in sequence so traffic keeps moving, meltwater drains away from entrances, and pile placement does not cut stall count or block sight lines.
  • Industrial yards near the railroad corridor get hit harder by truck traffic and drifting snow than most managers expect. We open dock aprons, keep trailer lanes clean, and avoid stacking where thaw water will run back into travel paths. That reduces freeze-up at the doors and keeps freight movement from getting pinned by windrows.
  • Older commercial sites in Mount Clemens often need ADA corrections mixed into winter work. If a ramp lip, sidewalk edge, or curb return traps snowmelt, we adjust the clearing pattern and salt placement so pedestrians have a usable route without creating ice sheets at the landing. That kind of cleanup protects access and cuts down on spring damage reports.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Mount Clemens Projects

Our Mount Clemens winter work stays in house from the first push to the final salt check. We send our own fully insured W2 crews and company-owned heavy equipment, and we do not hand the job to subcontractors, which keeps quality control tight, schedules predictable, and accountability clear for the property manager when a lot needs to be opened, cleaned up, or corrected.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Our 3-Step Snow Removal Process for Mount Clemens

  1. On-Site Evaluation We walk the property in Mount Clemens, check entrances, truck paths, stacking room, and drainage breaks, then build the estimate around how the site actually moves during a storm.
  2. Permitting and Logistics We map plow routes, salt access, pile locations, and any city paperwork before the season starts so your team has one plan instead of winter guesswork.
  3. Execution and Cleanup We start with priority lanes, keep access open through the event, then finish with a final scrape and salt check so the lot is ready for traffic when we leave.

Mount Clemens Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the permit work off your plate before the first storm. For Mount Clemens properties, we handle the paperwork through the Building Department for any Dumpster or right of way permits, and we coordinate with MissDig before any excavation tied to snow storage, drainage checks, or site prep. That keeps the manager out of the permit chase and keeps the lot moving legally, with fewer delays and fewer surprises at the curb.

Frequently Asked Questions about Snow Removal in Mount Clemens

When should we schedule winter service?

Book before the first hard freeze, while we can still inspect the lot, mark pile areas, and set plow routes without ice in the way. That gives us time to plan around traffic flow and keeps cost down by avoiding rushed storm prep.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We clear in stages so entrances, drive lanes, and loading areas stay usable while crews work the rest of the site. On a Mount Clemens property, that usually means opening priority paths first and coming back for cleanup after traffic drops off.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We place snow where meltwater can move away from pavement, not back into it. That limits refreeze, protects curb edges and joints, and cuts down on spring repair costs across Macomb sites.
