Recent Concrete Contractor Projects in Macomb Township

We stay active on commercial concrete work across Macomb Township, helping property managers deal with slab failures, curb breaks, sidewalk settlement, and dock apron wear before those problems spread into the base. Explore the map and project pins below to see where we have worked and how our field decisions hold up on real sites.

Commercial Properties We Service in Macomb Township

Commercial concrete has to match the way each site carries people, freight, and maintenance traffic. In Macomb Township, we size the work around load paths, drainage, and code use so the slab stays useful instead of turning into a recurring repair.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where entry walks, curb returns, and ADA routes have to stay level for foot traffic and customer access.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where dock aprons, drive lanes, and equipment paths need concrete that handles repeated axle loads without breaking down early.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where sidewalks, dumpster pads, and common-area slabs have to control trip hazards and hold up under steady resident use.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where public access, safety codes, and long service life matter because failures create liability fast.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Macomb Township Concrete Contractor Standards

Our Concrete Contractor work lasts longer in Macomb Township because we fix the parts that fail first, not just the surface you can see. We shape drainage so water moves away from the slab edge and out of the joints. We rebuild weak sub-base areas before placement, so the concrete has firm support under traffic. We also use mixes and joint spacing that hold up to Michigan freeze-thaw cycles. That approach keeps property managers from paying twice for the same panel, curb, or walk.

  • Drainage first: We pitch the slab and surrounding grade so meltwater and rain do not sit against the edge, soften the base, or work into cracks.
  • Base prep: We remove loose material, correct settlement, and compact a stable sub-base so the concrete carries load instead of bridging over weak ground.
  • Cold weather mix: We place concrete that fits local freeze-thaw stress, which helps reduce early scaling, spalling, and repeat repair calls.

Common Concrete Contractor Projects We Handle in Macomb Township

  • Retail centers along Hall Road often need broken entry walks, curb returns, and small apron sections replaced after plow hits, settlement, or years of cart traffic. We sawcut to sound concrete, rebuild the base where it has pumped out, set positive slope away from storefronts, and place new joints so the next crack lands where we want it.
  • Industrial properties near 19 Mile and Garfield call for slab patches that can take forklift loads, trailer turns, and repeated edge stress at dock areas. We remove failed panels full depth when needed, correct subgrade soft spots, and tie the new work into the existing layout so the repair does not become a weak link six months later.
  • ADA updates around office parks off M-53 usually start with trip hazards, settled sidewalks, and curb ramps that no longer meet grade after winter movement. We rework the concrete to restore level transitions, maintain drainage across the walk path, and keep access points usable for tenants and visitors without creating another maintenance problem.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Macomb Township Projects

Our concrete work in Macomb Township stays with our own W2 crews from layout to final cleanup, and every crew member works under the same field standards on slab replacement, curb resets, sidewalk panels, and dock aprons. We bring company-owned excavators, saws, and placement gear to the site, which keeps the schedule in our hands, keeps quality control tight, and gives property managers one accountable team instead of a chain of subcontractors.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Macomb Township Permits & Codes Handled For You

We handle the permit work before any sawcut or excavation starts, so your team does not get pulled into paperwork or utility coordination. Our crew files what the project needs with the Macomb Township Building Department, pulls the required Dumpster and ROW permits through https://www.macomb-mi.gov/173/Building-Code-Enforcement, and coordinates Miss Dig at https://www.missdig811.org/ so utility marks are in place before we open the slab. That keeps the job moving and keeps the risk off your desk.

Frequently Asked Questions about Concrete Contractor in Macomb Township

When should we schedule concrete work?

Spring through early fall gives us the best conditions for slab replacement and curb repairs. The ground firms up faster, cure times stay more predictable, and you avoid paying extra to fight cold weather or wet subgrade.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the work so one access route stays usable while another section is under construction. On active sites in Macomb Township, that usually means tighter staging, clear barricades, and planning each pour around delivery traffic and tenant access.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We stop water from getting into joints and weak edges before freeze-thaw can pry the slab apart. That means proper slope, sound base repair, joint control, and fixing settled spots before they turn into heave or breakage after the first hard freeze.
