We stay active on commercial paving work across Eastpointe, where lots have to handle steady traffic, tight turning movements, and weather that punishes weak base work. Use the map and project pins below to review recent jobs and see how we handle prep, placement, and finished pavement in the field.

Commercial Properties We Service in Eastpointe

We build commercial pavement for properties that need stable access, clean drainage, and a surface that matches the traffic rolling over it every day in Eastpointe.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, where lot layout, ADA ramps, and marked stalls have to stay readable and safe for customer traffic.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, where truck lanes, dock areas, and turning paths need thickness and compaction that handle heavy loads without rutting.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, where drive aisles, guest parking, and fire access depend on proper grading and a clean finish that limits standing water.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, where schools, offices, and public sites need pavement built for steady use, clear circulation, and long service life.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Eastpointe Asphalt Paving Standards

Our pavement holds up longer in Eastpointe because we do the unglamorous work first. We make sure water has a way out, we rebuild weak sections of the base before any asphalt goes down, and we use mixes that can take Michigan freeze-thaw cycles without breaking apart early. That approach keeps small cracks from turning into deeper failures, which saves property managers from paying for patchwork repairs long before the lot should need them.

  • Drainage first: We shape the lot so runoff moves away instead of sitting in low spots, where standing water works into joints, softens the support below, and starts the failure cycle.
  • Base prep: We correct unstable sub-base areas before paving, because a strong surface on weak ground still fails. Fixing the foundation now avoids heavier repair bills later.
  • Cold-weather mix: We place asphalt suited for repeated freeze-thaw stress in Macomb, so the pavement resists cracking, raveling, and edge breakup that lead to early maintenance calls.

Common Asphalt Paving Projects We Handle in Eastpointe

  • Retail lot resurfacing: Property managers along Gratiot and the 8 Mile corridor usually call us when traffic lanes are rutted, wheel paths are breaking up, or the surface has turned patchy from years of turning and stopping. We mill the worn top, repair weak areas under it, and place new asphalt at a thickness that matches the load instead of just covering the damage.
  • Industrial yard reconstruction: In Macomb, we see warehouse lots where truck traffic has pushed the pavement past spot repair. The fix starts below the surface. We remove failed sections, correct base movement, improve drainage where water is collecting, and rebuild the driving areas so forklifts, semis, and delivery trucks are not working over soft ground.
  • ADA and site access upgrades: Owners often need to correct slopes, curb transitions, or broken walks near entrances before an inspection becomes a problem. We rework the pavement grade, tie in accessible routes cleanly, and rebuild those connection points so customers can move from parking to entry without trip hazards or standing water at the doors.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Eastpointe Projects

Our Eastpointe paving work stays with our own W2 crews from prep to final compaction, and every operator works under our name on company-owned heavy equipment. We do not hand the job to subcontractors, which keeps the base work, asphalt placement, and site cleanup under one set of eyes, so property managers get steady scheduling, direct answers, and one crew that owns the result.

Eastpointe Asphalt Reviews That Hold Up

We have earned repeat work in Eastpointe by handling pavement the same way every time, with proper prep, honest scopes, and attention to what the lot needs under traffic, not just what photographs well. Read the reviews below to see how property managers describe the results, the scheduling, and the way we handle the job from start to finish.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Eastpointe Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the paperwork off your plate before any paving starts. Our team handles the Eastpointe Building Department requirements, pulls the needed Dumpster and ROW permits, and coordinates MissDig so underground utilities get marked before excavation begins. That keeps the job moving without putting permit calls, utility checks, or compliance details on your staff. For property managers, that means one point of contact, fewer delays, and a site plan that is ready for work instead of waiting on loose ends.

Frequently Asked Questions about Asphalt Paving in Eastpointe

When is the best time to schedule paving?

Late spring through early fall gives us the most stable window for commercial paving work in Eastpointe. Warm ground, dry subgrade, and steady temperatures help us compact the mix properly and avoid the extra cost that comes with weather delays.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We phase the work so traffic can keep moving, usually by breaking the lot into sections and keeping access lanes open where the site allows it. That approach works better than trying to rush everything at once, and it keeps disruption down for customers, tenants, and deliveries.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We stop water before it gets into the pavement structure. That means fixing drainage problems, sealing cracks early, and repairing weak spots before freeze-thaw cycles turn them into deeper failures across Macomb lots.
