Recent Snow Removal Projects in Chesterfield Township

We stay active on commercial properties across Chesterfield Township all winter, clearing lots, loading areas, and access routes as storms change the surface from hour to hour. Use the map and project pins below to review recent work and see how we handle real site conditions in the field.

Commercial Properties We Service in Chesterfield Township

We match winter operations to how each property moves people, trucks, and risk in Chesterfield Township.

  • Retail Centers & Plazas, need clear ADA routes, open storefront access, and controlled pile placement so customers can reach entrances without crossing packed snow or ice.
  • Industrial Parks & Warehouses, depend on dock access, trailer movement, and pavement that can handle repeated plow traffic without blocking heavy load areas or fire lanes.
  • HOAs & Multi-Family Complexes, need clear drives, mail routes, and pedestrian paths because one missed pass creates slip hazards, tenant complaints, and access problems fast.
  • Municipal & Institutional Facilities, require reliable clearing for public entrances, service drives, and emergency access so staff can keep the site open and safe during storm cycles.

Built for Michigan Weather: Our Chesterfield Township Snow Removal Standards

Our Snow Removal lasts longer in Chesterfield Township because we treat the lot like a drainage system first and a plow job second. Water that sits at curb lines, joint seams, or low spots turns into ice, then starts breaking pavement apart every time traffic rolls over it. We clear with that in mind, keep meltwater moving off the surface, and avoid stacking snow where it will feed runoff back into the driving lanes. That approach protects the base under the pavement and cuts down on early repairs that eat into a property manager’s budget.

  • Drainage first: We keep meltwater out of problem areas so it does not freeze, expand, and work under the edge of the pavement. That reduces cracking and keeps small winter issues from becoming spring patchwork.
  • Sub-base support: We plan around weak spots before they fail under plow pressure or thaw cycles. A stable base holds up better, which means fewer sink points, less edge breakup, and fewer emergency fixes.
  • Freeze-thaw mix: We use methods built for Michigan weather, where freeze-thaw swings punish weak surfaces fast. The right winter approach limits surface wear now and helps owners avoid premature resurfacing later.

Common Snow Removal Projects We Handle in Chesterfield Township

  • Retail centers along Gratiot and M-59 need the lot open before first traffic, then reworked after the morning push. We clear main drives first, keep ADA ramps and cart return lanes open, and place snow where it does not cut stall count or block sight lines at exits. That keeps customer movement steady without forcing people through slush at the doors.
  • Industrial yards near 23 Mile and I-94 usually need dock doors, trailer turns, and fire access handled in a fixed order. We start with the highest-risk lanes, break up packed windrows before they freeze, and manage pile placement so trucks can back in without climbing ridges or dragging snow into the loading area. That matters when a yard runs on tight dispatch windows.
  • Medical offices and multi-tenant sites off Chesterfield Road often ask for tighter ice control around walkways, curb cuts, and handicap spaces. We treat those areas first, use lighter material where foot traffic is dense, and keep meltwater moving away from entry points so refreeze does not build up overnight. In Macomb winters, that reduces slip risk without overloading the pavement with salt.

In-House Crews & Equipment for Chesterfield Township Projects

Our Chesterfield Township winter work stays in house from start to finish. We use only our own fully insured W2 crews and company-owned heavy equipment, so the same team that plans the route also handles the plow, salt checks, pile placement, and final cleanup, which keeps standards tight and gives local property managers one accountable contact on every storm. Refusing subcontractors removes the handoff errors that slow response or create uneven work, and it lets us control scheduling, site access, and the order of operations without guessing what another crew will do next.

D&J did a great job on our facility parking lot when we were in need of some asphalt catch basin repairs. They were professional, accommodating to our traffic needs, quick and thorough with the repairs, and back promptly after a week to retrieve their barriers. Their quote process was easy, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable for the work done. We are very pleased with D&J and recommend them highly.

D&J Contracting is a fantastic vendor. I manage a very large portfolio of retail stores and they are in my top 1% of all vendors. I give them my MOST enthusiastic recommendation. They care, they provide the best quality and customer service out there. Always go above and beyond and even take on special projects that are outside their main scope of work when I'm in a pinch. No job is too big or too small for them!

Nothings but professionalism, everything done as requested and on time.
My project involved multiple services and pulling permits and I had several quotes and most companies don’t offer multiple services or don’t pull permits and you have to do it yourself.
D & J is the only company who takes care of city permits and takes care of all the services you need from start to finish. They also update you on everything, keep you in a loop and confirms everything with you.
In our specific case we needed a curb cut, driveway leveled and parking lot sealed and coated so low sports vehicles can safely pull in without scraping the bottom and D & J did it so well you can pull in even on skateboard now.
Highly recommend D & J, top quality, smooth process.

D&J was one of several companies I contacted for a quote to pave my 100’ driveway in May/June of 2021. They delivered a competitive quote, and I was further impressed by their professionalism and quick correspondence. After I hired D&J for the job, they came out to my residence within two weeks and paved my driveway in a single day. The driveway looks fantastic! The crew who paved it was friendly and quick-working, and the driveway is perfectly flat and slopes toward the road so there is no significant puddling (the attached photo is moments after a hard rain). It has been about four months since installation, and the driveway still looks impeccable. I was also contacted by D&J after the work was completed to ensure I was completely satisfied. I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with several subpar contractors in the construction industry in the recent past—but D&J is an exception to the rule. They were competitive, responsive, professional, and focused on quality and customer satisfaction. I was left very impressed. I have some future site work planned for my property, and I will absolutely be contacting D&J again.

Chesterfield Township Permits & Codes Handled For You

We take the permit work off your plate before the first storm hits. In Chesterfield Township, we handle the paperwork with the Building Department, pull the required Dumpster and right of way permits through the township process, and coordinate with MissDig before any excavation tied to snow storage or site prep. That keeps your manager out of the permit line and lets us keep the job moving without last minute delays, missed forms, or utility conflicts.

Frequently Asked Questions about Snow Removal in Chesterfield Township

When should we schedule winter service?

Book before the first hard freeze so we can walk the site, map plow lanes, and set pile areas while pavement edges are still visible. That usually lowers labor in Chesterfield Township because we are not fighting packed snow, hidden curbs, or frozen drainage points on day one.

How do you keep our business open during the project?

We clear in phases and protect the main drive, dock access, and customer entrances first. If a lane has to stay open for traffic, we work around it and return for cleanup once the site settles down.

How do you prevent winter weather damage?

We keep snow off curb lines, joints, and low spots so meltwater does not refreeze and break up the surface. We also place piles where they will not trap runoff against the lot, which helps control spring thaw damage across Macomb properties.
