About Commercial Snow Plowing

Introduction to Commercial Snow Plowing in Shelby

The winter season in Shelby brings with it scenic views, winter wonderland aesthetics, and unfortunately, the occasionally troublesome blanket of snow. While it adds to the allure of the township, for businesses and commercial properties, it can cause significant disruptions. Operations may grind to a halt as snow-clogged parking lots and entranceways become impassable. This is where commercial snow plowing steps in to ensure business continuity. Understanding the process, benefits, and real-world applications of commercial snow plowing are critical in making the best business decisions related to winter safety and operations.

Commercial Snow Plowing Process

Commercial property snow plowing, especially in heavy snowfall areas like Shelby, is more than simply moving snow. Professionals like D&J Contracting understand the intricacies of managing and mitigating snowfall on commercial properties. They know that it requires strategy, precision, and adequate response time to deliver efficient and effective results.

The process begins with a thorough pre-winter assessment of the property. Key areas such as driveways, parking lots, fire hydrants, and walkways are mapped out. The team formulates a comprehensive snow response plan. Once the snow hits, the well-coordinated team works to implement this plan, utilizing high-grade plowing equipment to quickly and safely remove snow from your property.

Benefits of Commercial Snow Plowing

Business premises snow plowing offers numerous benefits. By eliminating snow and ice, it assures a safer environment for both your employees and customers, reducing the risk of accidents and potential liabilities. Additionally, by keeping commercial areas clear and navigable, businesses can maintain steady operations, even during severe weather. It enhances your business’s image, demonstrating a focus on safety and professionalism.

Take, for instance, a large enterprise with multiple commercial parking lots in Shelby. Without a professional snow plowing service like D&J Contracting, their parking lots could soon become a snow-trapped maze. With professional commercial parking lot snow plowing, the premises can remain safe and accessible, causing minimal disruption to the business.

Real World Applications

Commercial snow plowing finds its arena in a variety of sectors. From large shopping complexes and corporate parks to hospitals and school districts, all commercial establishments in winter-prone regions need snow plowing services. Industrial snow plowing services cater to large factories and warehouses where long shutdowns due to snow accumulation can cause significant financial loss.

Consider a warehouse in Shelby which dispatches hundreds of deliveries daily. Snow accumulation could incapacitate the dispatch process, resulting in substantial delays and subsequent loss of business. By engaging in professional snow plowing for businesses, the warehouse can keep its operations smooth and maintain its delivery promises irrespective of the weather.

About Shelby, Michigan

Shelby Township was set off by an act of the Michigan Territorial Legislature on April 12, 1827, and a civil government was organized the following May. It originally included the area that is now Sterling Heights, which was set off March 17, 1835, as the township of Jefferson, renamed to Sterling on March 6, 1838. Utica, located on the southern edge of the township, originally incorporated as a village on March 9, 1838, although that corporation was dissolved soon afterwards. The village was incorporated for a second time on May 10, 1877.

The village of Disco (42°41′02″N 83°02′04″W / 42.68389°N 83.03444°W / 42.68389; -83.03444 (Disco)) was located at what is now the junction of 24 Mile Road and Van Dyke Road. and was platted in 1849. The community never incorporated, although the local high school, the Disco Academy, gained some local recognition and a post office named Disco operated from May 5, 1854, until July 31, 1906. Only a few homes and a namesake on old county road maps remain of this now forgotten historic place. See also: “The Lost Village of Disco” on the Shelby Township Historical Society website.
