Understanding the Importance of a French Drain Sump Pump
The city of Clinton Township is home to a bustling mix of commercial properties, each with its unique architecture and assisted functionality. With the changing seasonal weather patterns and occasional problems with excessive ground water, keeping these buildings dry and functional becomes a top priority. In this backdrop, one solution that surfaces as a beacon of resilience is the French Drain Sump Pump system known for its efficacy and reliability.
The Core Considerations of a French Drain Sump Pump
A French Drain Sump Pump system provides an effective answer to the issues presented by surface water and subsurface water in Clinton Township’s commercial properties. Carefully engineered for optimal performance, the synergy of the French drain and the sump pump work cohesively. The French drain guides water away from your property’s foundation and towards the sump pit. Once enough water collects, the sump pump activates and pushes the water out through a discharge line, effectively eliminating potential water damage. The sump pump pipe outside ensures that the removed water doesn’t loop back towards the property.
Detailed Steps for a French Drain Sump Pump Installation
The process of installing a French Drain Sump Pump involves well-planned steps. The first step includes determining the most effective spot for the French Drain. This decision takes into consideration the property’s landscape and the direction of the water flow. Once the location is determined, the process involves digging a trench, placing perforated pipes, and filling it with gravel. Following the French drain installation, the sump pump is installed in the basement or crawl space.
Following the installation, the discharge line for the sump pump is connected, often burying the sump pump line ensures optimal functioning. Running the sump pump discharge line effectively ensures that water is directed adequately and safely away from the commercial property. A buried sump pump discharge line is often preferred because it eliminates the chances of a frozen sump line, ensuring seamless operation during the cold seasons.

About Clinton Township, Michigan
The first settlement on the land that is now Clinton Township was called Gnadenhuetten and was established in 1782 by Rev. David Zeisberger, but closed in 1786. It was organized as “Huron Township” on August 12, 1818, named after what was then known as the Huron River. Because of confusion with another Huron River south of Detroit, on July 17, 1824, the Michigan Territorial Legislature renamed both the township and the river after DeWitt Clinton, the popular governor of New York from 1817 to 1823 who was largely responsible for building the Erie Canal which enabled many settlers to come to Michigan.
Moravian Drive is the township’s oldest road, dating back to the days when Moravian missionaries settled to attempt to convert the local Native Americans.
Clinton Township is in south-central Macomb County. The city of Mount Clemens, the Macomb county seat, is bordered on three sides by the northeast part of the township.
