About Commercial Snow Plowing

Introduction to Commercial Snow Plowing in Chesterfield Township

When winter arrives and blankets the city of Chesterfield Township in snow, business owners and commercial property managers face a crucial challenge – efficiently and safely managing the wintry landscape. This is where the critical service of commercial snow plowing comes into play. Armed with professional-grade equipment and a wealth of experience, these service providers ensure that business operations continue smoothly, even amidst the most severe snowfalls.

The Importance of Commercial Snow Plowing

Commercial snow plowing is an essential service in regions with colder climates such as our beloved Chesterfield Township. It helps maintain the safety and accessibility of commercial properties during winter months, an aspect often taken for granted until it becomes an inconvenience or, worse, a hazardous situation.

From shopping centers to corporate premises, commercial property snow plowing is a necessity for any organization. Businesses must provide safe environments for their customers and employees, which means clear, accessible parking lots and pathways free from ice and snow. This is even more significant for industries subject to strict safety regulations, such as healthcare or transportation, where the consequences of poor snow management could be disastrous.

The Process of Commercial Snow Plowing

So, how does the snow plowing process work for commercial areas? The first step begins with a proactive plan. Trained professionals at a reputable company like D&J Contracting will first assess your property, identifying critical areas that may pose potential risks during a snowfall event. This can include entrances, walkways, fire hydrants, or parking spaces.

Then, when the snowfall hits, the operation swings into full gear using a fleet of commercial-grade snow plows, salt spreaders, and loaders. Creating clear, safe passages in commercial parking lots and around business premises is the goal, ensuring the continual flow of vehicles and pedestrians.

Benefit of Commercial Snow Plowing Services

Employing professional snow plowing services for businesses provides several tangible benefits. Firstly, it ensures your premises are always accessible. A clear and well-maintained exterior presents a professional appearance to customers and clients. Snow and ice management is more than just a removal service; it’s a way of demonstrating that your business is proactive and cares about the wellbeing of those who use your facility.

From a liability perspective, neglecting snow and ice buildup can lead to accidents and injuries. Lawsuits resulting from slips and falls can prove costly for businesses. Commercial snow plowing helps mitigate these risks, offering peace of mind in addition to clean, clear outdoor spaces.

About Chesterfield Township, Michigan

Chesterfield Township was originally established as a general law township in 1842. It became a charter township in 1989.

The original European-American settlement in the area was a hamlet called Chesterfield, first settled in 1830. When the Grand Trunk Railway came through in 1865, it stimulated the development of businesses in the hamlet. It had a post office from 1875 until 1907, but has since lost its specific identity.

Chesterfield Township is in eastern Macomb County and is bordered on the north by Lenox Township and the village of New Haven; on the east by Ira Township in St. Clair County, and by the village of New Baltimore; on the southeast by Anchor Bay, which is a part of Lake St. Clair; on the south by Harrison Township; and on the west by Macomb Township.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 30.6 square miles (79 km), of which 27.6 square miles (71 km) are land and 3.0 square miles (7.8 km), or 9.85%, are water.

Much of Chesterfield Township is dominated by suburban subdivisions and shopping developments; its population is increasingly diverse, reflecting area demographic changes. In 2010 some 89% of the population identified as non-Hispanic whites; in the late 20th century, the largely rural township had an even higher percentage of whites. Anchor Bay influences the southeastern part of the community, where many pleasure boats, docks, and marine-related businesses can be found.

There are nine unincorporated communities in the township and no incorporated villages:

  • Anchor Bay Gardens is located off Jefferson Avenue at Sunrise Street and Jans Drive (42°38′34″N 82°48′45″W / 42.64278°N 82.81250°W / 42.64278; -82.81250; Elevation: 571 ft./174 m.).

The first post office in the township was established here in 1837 in the house of Robert O. Milton, with the name of “New Haven Post Office”. When this was moved to New Haven, Alfred D. Rice established another post office in Milton. That post office closed at some point, and another was opened in January 1856, with Edmund Matthews as postmaster. This office operated until July 1904. Milton was home to a school, three churches, a doctor, a blacksmith, and a couple of saloons. The last saloon survived until 2004, when it was torn down, at that time it was known as the “Teddy Bear Bar.” The school, known as Milton School, was incorporated into another building, which was torn down in 2002.
