Asphalt Driveway Resurfacing for Commercial Properties in Grosse Pointe

The appearance and functionality of a commercial property’s driveway play a critical role in establishing a positive first impression for clients, customers, and employees alike. In a city such as Grosse Pointe, where aesthetics and durability go hand in hand, investing in asphalt driveway resurfacing can transform a tired, cracked, or uneven entrance into an inviting, safe, and professional gateway to your business. Commercial enterprises across various industries have witnessed firsthand how modern resurfacing techniques not only improve curb appeal but also extend the lifespan of the parking lot and driveway infrastructure.

Reviewing your asphalt driveway repair near me options and making informed decisions about driveway restoration projects has never been more important. With the challenge of managing heavy traffic loads, exposure to the elements, and everyday wear and tear, many business owners find that regular upkeep and occasional resurfacing become necessary. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the technical process behind asphalt driveway resurfacing, the benefits associated with it, and practical, real-world examples demonstrating its value in commercial settings. At the same time, this article draws subtle connections between asphalt driveway resurfacing cost considerations and the importance of working with top-tier service providers—such as D&J Contracting—who have proven themselves throughout the region.

Before delving into the many facets of the resurfacing process, it is important to understand that planning and anticipation are key drivers of successful maintenance. When commercial properties opt for asphalt resurfacing over replacement, they not only save on the immediate cost but also avoid extended disruptions to daily operations. This guide explains the nuances of the resurfacing process, offering insights into how business owners in Grosse Pointe and beyond can leverage these methods to keep their driveways looking and performing at their best.

Understanding the Need for Asphalt Driveway Resurfacing

In commercial real estate, the need for asphalt driveway resurfacing stems from both aesthetic considerations and the practical demand for safety and durability. Over time, constant exposure to weather, vehicular traffic, and chemical spills can lead to surface deterioration—a phenomenon that not only diminishes the visual appeal of the driveway but also jeopardizes safety standards. Business owners often have to grapple with issues such as cracks, potholes, and uneven surfaces that endanger both vehicles and pedestrians. Asphalt resurfacing addresses these concerns by applying a new layer of asphalt over the existing surface, effectively sealing imperfections and restoring a unified, high-performance roadway.

The decision to undertake asphalt driveway resurfacing is not made lightly. Many commercial property managers search for solutions online using terms like driveway resurfacing near me and asphalt resurfacing near me, often looking for an affordable alternative to full-scale replacement. By opting for resurfacing, property managers can avoid the extensive labor and material costs associated with repairing or replacing an entire driveway. The process is efficient, can be completed quickly, and—in many cases—prolongs the service life of the driveway significantly.

Beyond the immediate practical benefits, the long-term advantage of a resurfaced driveway is its enhanced resistance to water infiltration, chemical spills, and temperature fluctuations. These improvements lower the cost of asphalt driveway repair when issues do arise. For an area like Grosse Pointe where seasonal weather extremes are common, the protective benefits of resurfacing present a compelling value proposition for commercial establishments that want to maintain both safety standards and aesthetic appeal.

When balancing cost with performance, many businesses find that the upfront investment in resurfacing is quickly offset by the reduction in maintenance and repair expenses. This perspective is reinforced by evaluating metrics such as concrete driveway resurfacing benchmarks and comparing them to the benefits observed from a quality asphalt overlay. In many instances, property managers even consider the alternative option of concrete driveway resurfacing near me, yet the flexibility, ease of repair, and resilience of asphalt makes it a preferred choice in numerous commercial applications.

The Process of Asphalt Driveway Resurfacing

The asphalt driveway resurfacing process is a careful balance of preparation, application, and curing. It begins with a thorough evaluation of the existing surface to identify any issues that may require additional remediation. Commercial property owners typically work with experienced contractors who assess the extent of cracks, ruts, and surface irregularities. Depending on the severity, the contractor may recommend routine patch repairs or a full-scale resurfacing. This initial evaluation is crucial because it shapes the decision between a simple repair and a more comprehensive overhaul—often influenced by considerations such as the cost of asphalt driveway resurfacing cost and long-term durability expectations.

Preparation of the surface involves cleaning and repairing the existing asphalt to remove debris, oils, and vegetation that could compromise the adhesion of the new layer. A key step in this process is ensuring the elimination of surface imperfections that, if left unchecked, can lead to early delamination or failure of the new coat. In some cases, contractors might use specialized treatments that stabilize the current asphalt, effectively preparing it for a new, seamless application. Rather than opting for a complete removal, this method of resurfacing minimizes downtime and disruption, making it an ideal solution for commercial properties that cannot afford extensive closures.

Once the surface is prepared, the next phase is applying a thin, high-quality layer of asphalt over the existing surface. This new layer adheres to the old asphalt through a process known as “bonded overlay,” effectively restoring the driveway’s smoothness and durability. The application process is highly technical, involving precise temperature controls and a carefully calibrated mix of asphalt. The expertise of the contractor is key here; missteps in timing or material application can lead to uneven surfaces or premature degradation. Business owners often compare this process to concrete driveway resurfacing techniques, understanding that similar principles of surface preparation and bonding are essential for achieving optimal results.

The curing phase, while less visible, is equally critical to the overall performance of the resurfaced driveway. During this period, which can span several days to weeks based on environmental conditions, the new asphalt layer hardens and forms a cohesive unit with the underlying surface. During curing, traffic is limited, and special care is taken to monitor weather conditions that might disturb the bonding. For businesses relying on continuous operation, meticulous scheduling and communication with the contractor can help mitigate the impact of the resurfacing project on daily activities.

When evaluating the process of asphalt driveway resurfacing, it is also important to note the value of ongoing communication between the property manager and the contractor. Clear timelines, detailed work scopes, and accessible customer service are all factors that contribute to a successful resurfacing project. In the competitive landscape of private contracting, companies such as D&J Contracting have garnered strong reputations by demonstrating consistency, attention to detail, and a long-term focus on client satisfaction. This approach not only reassures business owners during the resurfacing process but also secures future business through referrals and positive reviews.

Technical Execution and Innovations in Resurfacing

Advancements in the technology used for asphalt driveway resurfacing have revolutionized the industry over the past decade. State-of-the-art machinery ensures that the resurfacing process is executed with precision, while specialized mixtures and additives enhance both the durability and sustainability of the new surface. Modern resurfacing involves a combination of traditional techniques and contemporary innovations, ensuring an optimal balance between cost-effectiveness and long-lasting performance.

One significant breakthrough in the field is the development of polymer-modified asphalt mixes. These formulations provide increased resistance to temperature fluctuations, UV degradation, and heavy loads—factors that are particularly important for commercial driveways that see constant use. Polymer-modified mixes also tend to be more flexible, accommodating the natural expansion and contraction of the underlying layers without cracking. The versatility of this material stands in contrast to some of the challenges associated with concrete driveway resurfacing, where rigidity can lead to fissures under harsh conditions.

In addition to advanced materials, improvements in surface preparation techniques have played a crucial role. High-pressure cleaning machines and infrared heating systems have been integrated into the process to ensure that the existing asphalt is optimally conditioned for the new overlay. These methods enhance the bond between the layers and reduce the likelihood of issues such as delamination—a common concern raised during the evaluation of cost of asphalt driveway repair. As a result, commercial properties can enjoy prolonged periods of uninterrupted service without the need for frequent, costly repairs.

The incorporation of recycled materials into asphalt mixtures is another innovation that has garnered much attention. By utilizing reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), contractors not only contribute to a sustainable construction process but also reduce the overall cost of the project. This eco-friendly approach has proven popular among businesses striving to meet environmental benchmarks while still obtaining a resilient driveway surface. For property owners who might otherwise turn to less environmentally sustainable options like concrete driveway resurfacing near me, this innovation offers a responsible alternative without sacrificing quality.

Beyond the materials and preparation processes, ongoing research in pavement performance analytics is further enhancing the execution of asphalt driveway resurfacing. Contractors now rely on detailed performance data and predictive analytics to determine the ideal timing for maintenance or resurfacing. This data-driven approach enables a more proactive management strategy, reducing downtime and unexpected repair costs. Commercial property managers benefit from this heightened level of precision as they strategically plan for long-term infrastructure investments, balancing upfront expenditure against future savings.

Benefits of Asphalt Driveway Resurfacing for Commercial Properties

The benefits of asphalt driveway resurfacing extend far beyond the immediate aesthetic improvements. For commercial properties in Grosse Pointe, and in similar urban centers, the resurfacing process yields economic, operational, and safety benefits that justify the investment. A smooth, well-maintained driveway not only enhances the professional appearance of the property but also minimizes risks associated with accidents and damage to vehicles.

One of the most significant advantages of resurfacing is its cost efficiency compared to complete reconstruction. Many property managers turn to inquiries like asphalt driveway resurfacing near me or asphalt driveway resurfacing cost when they consider whether to repair or replace their driveways. A properly executed resurfacing project can extend the life of the existing infrastructure for many years, delaying the need for a full replacement while also improving performance. This cost-effective solution reduces the overall financial burden on the business while simultaneously increasing property value and attractiveness.

Additionally, businesses also benefit from reduced maintenance costs. The new, sealed layer fends off water, chemicals, and debris much more effectively than an aged surface, leading to longer intervals between routine repairs. With services like asphalt driveway repair near me consistently integrated into broader maintenance schedules, commercial property owners can avoid the recurring expenses associated with frequent patchwork and minor repairs. The enhanced durability of a resurfaced driveway creates an environment in which day-to-day operations proceed with fewer interruptions and less risk of accidents caused by surface irregularities.

Safety is another important factor. A smooth, continuous surface minimizes the risk of tripping hazards and vehicular accidents, a benefit that resonates particularly with businesses that see high volumes of both foot and vehicle traffic. The process of resurfacing repairs cracks and potholes that would otherwise create dangerous conditions for employees and visitors. This improved safety record can translate into lower insurance premiums and fewer liability issues, contributing to the long-term fiscal health of the enterprise.

Moreover, a resurfaced driveway can serve as an excellent marketing tool. Its pristine appearance enhances the overall image of the business and can influence the perceptions of potential clients or customers, who often associate well-maintained infrastructure with reliability and professionalism. This enhanced first impression might even extend to the surrounding neighborhood, where local references and word-of-mouth recommendations play a significant role in the continued success of a business. In a competitive commercial landscape, even seemingly minor details such as driveway aesthetics can make a powerful impact.

Beyond the immediate mechanical and financial advantages, asphalt driveway resurfacing contributes to overall environmental sustainability when managed responsibly. By favoring recycled materials and advanced, resource-efficient methods, commercial property managers in Grosse Pointe can adhere to environmental guidelines more effectively than they might with alternative methods like concrete driveway resurfacing. Considering the growing emphasis on sustainable construction practices, this approach aligns with broader corporate social responsibility initiatives, thereby appealing to an increasingly environmentally aware clientele.

Real World Applications and Success Stories

Across Grosse Pointe and the surrounding regions, numerous commercial properties have witnessed remarkable transformations through high-quality asphalt driveway resurfacing projects. For example, a local shopping center, long struggling with a visibly deteriorating entrance, recently underwent a resurfacing project that significantly boosted both safety and customer impressions. The investment not only improved traffic flow in the area but also served as a subtle marketing element that reinforced the modern, customer-focused image of the shopping center.

In another instance, a series of small businesses operating from a shared commercial complex faced recurring issues with cracks and speeding water runoff. By choosing to invest in a comprehensive resurfacing project rather than a piecemeal repair approach, the property managers were able to resolve longstanding issues at a fraction of the cost that would have been required for a complete asphalt overhaul. Business owners in the complex reported a noticeable improvement in the overall appearance of the property, along with a reduction in maintenance calls. This success story is often referenced alongside searches for driveway restoration and driveway resurfacing near me as a prime example of effective, cost-conscious maintenance.

Furthermore, companies that rely on large fleets, such as logistics or transportation firms operating in and around Grosse Pointe, have found that resurfacing their driveways alleviates issues related to heavy vehicle loads. Before resurfacing, frequent wear and tear from heavy trucks led to an increased frequency of repairs, impacting operational efficiency. After a carefully executed asphalt resurfacing project, these companies noted a dramatic reduction in the maintenance demands—every aspect from vehicle safety to administrative overhead benefited as a result. Clients in these industries often compare the cost of asphalt driveway repair and maintenance with the long-term savings that a freshly resurfaced driveway provides, which serves as a key selling point in their decision-making processes.

Among the many stories of success, one of the most instructive revolves around a property that had previously opted for concrete driveway resurfacing. Although concrete resurfacing offers durability in certain settings, the inflexibility and susceptibility to cracking under high stress left the property manager dissatisfied in the long run. In contrast, after switching to an asphalt-based solution, the property experienced fewer emergency repairs and a more resilient performance under varied weather conditions. This example illustrates how asphalt driveway resurfacing can offer superior adaptability and cost savings compared to more rigid alternatives. Contractors working on these projects often take pride in balancing the technical requirements of resurfacing with the unique needs of each commercial customer, ensuring that every project is tailored to maximize both functionality and appeal.

These real-world applications underscore that the advantage of asphalt driveway resurfacing lies not just in the immediate visual grease but in the underlying improvements to the property’s functional integrity. Companies operating on a tight schedule and a strict budget are increasingly viewing resurfacing as an investment rather than a cost. The combined influence of ensuring a smooth surface through state-of-the-art engineering, leveraging recycled and eco-friendly materials, and ultimately protecting their businesses from future downtime has led many to reconsider their previously held reservations about roadway maintenance. In many cases, business owners who previously considered queries such as asphalt driveway repair near me or asphalt driveway resurfacing near me as a last resort now see these services as central to their property management strategy.

Subtle recommendations from satisfied clients frequently mention specialized contractors like D&J Contracting. Their blend of attention to detail, timely execution, and customer-focused service has helped many commercial properties in the region overcome challenges that other providers struggled with. When local managers evaluated both affordability and reliability, they often cited the superior performance of professionals experienced with asphalt overlays—further reinforcing the invaluable benefits of choosing a knowledgeable contractor for driveway restoration projects.

Economic Considerations and Cost Analysis

As with any significant infrastructure investment, cost considerations are paramount when evaluating asphalt driveway resurfacing for commercial properties. Although the initial financial outlay may seem significant, a closer analysis often reveals that the long-term benefits—both in terms of reduced maintenance and enhanced aesthetic appeal—justify the expenditure. In many cases, property managers begin their evaluation by exploring the cost of asphalt driveway repair options versus complete replacement and realize that resurfacing is a balanced middle ground.

The cost analysis of resurfacing projects typically encompasses several factors, including labor, materials, equipment mobilization, and post-project maintenance planning. For businesses mindful of their bottom line, understanding the breakdown of asphalt driveway resurfacing cost can inform a more strategic approach in budgeting for infrastructure improvements. When comparing quotes, private contractors and consulting firms often advise property managers to consider not only the immediate material costs but also the longevity and performance guarantees of the materials used—factors that are often overlooked in more cursory cost comparisons.

In Grosse Pointe, where commercial property values are closely tied to the region’s reputation for refined aesthetics and robust infrastructure, investing in a high-quality resurfacing project can significantly enhance overall marketability. Decision makers often weigh the costs of traditional maintenance against the potential savings achieved through fewer mid-life repairs. Additionally, the durability and safety afforded by a professionally resurfaced driveway can reduce liability concerns and associated insurance costs. Comparative studies have consistently shown that properties that undergo regular resurfacing experience lower long-term maintenance costs and fewer emergency repair interventions, which in turn helps maintain continuous business operations.

Another angle often considered is the opportunity cost of not taking proactive measures. With the growing frequency of searches for driveway restoration and driveway extension contractors among local business circles, it is clear that delaying maintenance projects can prove more costly in the long run. Issues such as water infiltration and structural fatigue can escalate rapidly, creating situations where the cost of asphalt driveway repair far exceeds the expense of preventive resurfacing. In essence, timely intervention using a durable asphalt overlay helps bridge the gap between short-term financial constraints and long-term savings—making it a prudent investment for businesses looking to maintain a competitive edge.

Local market dynamics further influence the economic feasibility of resurfacing projects. Given the competitive nature of Grosse Pointe’s commercial districts, property managers often emphasize the importance of reliable, high-performance driveways as part of their overall value proposition. In this environment, selective use of alternative contractors—for instance, those offering concrete driveway resurfacing near me—tends to be less common. Instead, many owners lean towards proven solutions such as modern asphalt resurfacing techniques that guarantee both durability and a superior finish. It is this trend that has helped cement the reputation of many regional specialists, with D&J Contracting standing out as a prominent example due to their consistent delivery of results that harmonize both form and function.

Beyond the integration of advanced materials and processes, financing options also play a role in making resurfacing projects feasible. In some cases, works are scheduled during off-peak periods with flexible financing plans or phased approaches that allow property managers to spread the cost over time. Such financial strategies not only ease the burden of upfront costs but sometimes come accompanied by negotiated discounts on materials or bundled maintenance packages. In addition, when weighed against the cost of a complete overhaul or the potential expenses incurred from repeated emergency repairs, the investment in asphalt driveway resurfacing becomes much more attractive. The ability to control overtime expenses while simultaneously upgrading the company’s image can lead to significant indirect benefits in customer retention and employee satisfaction.

Maintenance and Aftercare for a Resurfaced Driveway

Achieving a successful asphalt driveway resurfacing project is only part of the journey. Maintaining the integrity and appearance of a commercial driveway after resurfacing requires thoughtful, periodic maintenance and careful aftercare. The longevity of the new overlay is largely dependent on how well the property is maintained following the project, which includes regular cleaning, timely repairs, and periodic inspections to identify any emerging issues.

For businesses that have recently undergone resurfacing, establishing a maintenance schedule is essential. Routine inspections help identify minor wear and tear that, if not quickly addressed, can evolve into more serious problems. For example, small surface cracks or areas where the sealant begins to degrade should be repaired as soon as they are noticed. Contractors often offer maintenance programs tailored to the specific conditions of commercial driveways, and many property managers find that a partnership with a service provider relieves much of the scheduling and logistical burden. In Grosse Pointe, where weather fluctuations can accelerate wear, proactive aftercare measures are invaluable.

In many instances, inquiries such as driveway resurfacing near me and asphalt resurfacing near me are followed up with consultations on how best to protect the newly applied surface. Regular cleaning not only keeps the driveway aesthetically pleasing but also prolongs the life of the asphalt by removing debris, oil spills, and chemicals that can erode the sealant. Businesses are guided to adopt best practices, including the use of designated cleaning agents and scheduling deep cleaning periods during low-traffic hours. These simple measures have a significant impact on the durability of the resurfaced driveway.

Another important aspect of aftercare involves understanding the role of environmental conditions in the aging process. For commercial properties in regions like Grosse Pointe, where freezing and thawing cycles are common, regular monitoring of the driveway is essential. Contractors often advise reapplying protective sealants after a few years to reinforce the bond between the new surface and the underlying structure. By doing so, businesses can stave off the onset of cracks and other surface irregularities that might otherwise lead to costly asphalt driveway repair.

Additionally, aftercare is not solely about routine maintenance; it also involves preparing for unforeseen events such as heavy storms or vehicular impacts. Commercial property managers are encouraged to have contingency plans in place, which might include emergency patch repair services and clear protocols for addressing sudden damage. By investing in a robust maintenance plan, businesses not only safeguard their infrastructure but also ensure that any repairs can be conducted quickly and efficiently—minimizing disruption to operations. Such preemptive strategies are particularly critical in high-traffic areas and align closely with the thought processes behind long-term driveway restoration strategies.

Moreover, proactive maintenance and aftercare resonate well with the fundamental goals of commercial property management by reducing the overall life-cycle cost of the driveway. When business owners consistently adhere to recommended maintenance schedules, the frequency of deep, costly repairs is significantly reduced. The integration of regular checkups and prompt repairs also helps to ensure that the driveway continues to serve as a safe, functional access point to the property. In a broader context, this ongoing commitment to maintenance supports the overall sustainability of the business’s infrastructure, protecting both financial investments and the reputation of the property.

Future Trends and Evolving Technologies

The field of asphalt driveway resurfacing is continually evolving with technology and innovation. Looking ahead, several trends suggest that future developments will further enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and overall quality of resurfacing projects. One of the emerging trends is the increasing use of smart technologies to monitor the condition of resurfaced driveways. Sensors embedded within the asphalt can now provide real-time data on surface conditions, temperature variations, and even early signs of structural stress. These advancements allow contractors and property managers to adopt proactive maintenance strategies well before minor issues escalate into significant repairs.

Automation in the resurfacing process is another technological evolution. Modern paving machines equipped with advanced sensors and computerized controls deliver a more consistent and uniform application of the asphalt layer. Such precision significantly reduces human error and increases the overall quality of the project. As these machines become more widely available, the overall cost of asphalt driveway resurfacing may become more predictable, encouraging more business owners to undertake resurfacing projects. These innovations serve as a testament to the dynamic nature of the infrastructure maintenance industry—an industry where even traditional techniques are continuously refined.

Alongside machine automation, advances in material science are contributing to a new generation of durable asphalt mixes. These blends, which often include synthetic polymers or advanced additives, are designed to offer improved resistance against chemical spills, weather extremes, and heavy loads. Such materials not only extend the life of the resurfaced driveway but can also provide a smoother finish, further enhancing the visual appeal of the property. When businesses compare the performance of asphalt driveways with alternatives like concrete driveway resurfacing, the benefits of these new formulations become increasingly apparent.

Environmental sustainability remains a key focus area for many industries, and asphalt driveway resurfacing is no exception. With growing emphasis on reducing the carbon footprint of construction projects, manufacturers are exploring the use of recycled materials and low-carbon production processes. The incorporation of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is becoming a standard best practice, particularly in regions that value sustainability as a cornerstone of urban development. By embracing environmentally friendly materials, contractors not only meet regulatory requirements but also appeal to a demographic of environmentally conscious business owners.

The cumulative impact of these technological and material innovations is expected to redefine what property managers can expect from resurfacing projects in the future. With continued improvements in both process efficiency and material performance, asphalt driveway resurfacing will likely become an even more attractive proposition for commercial properties, especially in competitive areas like Grosse Pointe. In this evolving landscape, the role of experienced professionals such as those at D&J Contracting continues to be vital. Their ability to integrate cutting-edge technology with tested methods positions them as leaders in delivering high-quality, long-lasting resurfacing solutions that meet modern demands.

About Grosse Pointe, Michigan

It was incorporated as a city in 1934. There are five Grosse Pointes: Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe City, Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores.

Together with Grosse Pointe Park and Grosse Pointe Farms, the city comprises part of the southern Pointes, which are older and more densely populated than the northern Pointes (Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores). It became heavily populated between 1910 and 1930 as one of Detroit’s first commuter suburbs; in the previous century, Grosse Pointe was home to cottages, resorts, farms, and widely spaced lakefront mansions. Grosse Pointe (“the City”), Grosse Pointe Farms, and Grosse Pointe Park make up the Grosse Pointe South High School district. Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores make up the Grosse Pointe North High School district. Downtown Grosse Pointe, along Kercheval Avenue from Neff to Cadieux, nicknamed “The Village,” is considered by many locals to be the central downtown for all five of the Grosse Pointes, although each of them (except Grosse Pointe Shores) has several blocks of retail properties.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.25 square miles (5.83 km), of which 1.06 square miles (2.75 km) is land and 1.19 square miles (3.08 km) is water. The water is part of Lake St. Clair.

The street layout of Grosse Pointe is basically a grid inside of its Cadieux, Mack, and Fisher Road boundaries. Inside this small rectangle, most blocks contain rows of single-family homes built between 1910 and 1950, on parcels 50 feet (15 m) wide on average. Some streets offer large backyards, such as Washington and Lakeland, while other streets are more compact. In some areas, homes are configured in a traditionally urban, close-together fashion, while other nearby blocks may offer yards up to 150 feet (46 m) wide.

Home sizes and styles vary widely, from 1,500 to 12,000 square feet (140 to 1,110 m), but slightly under 3,000 square feet (280 m) on average. Most of the largest homes are within a few blocks of the lakefront; there are several blocks of mansions south of Kercheval Avenue. Predominant architecture includes the neo-Georgian, Tudor revival, Dutch Colonial, and arts and crafts styles. Some Victorian homes and traditional bungalow homes can also be found, mostly just north and south of the Village retail district. Some blocks, generally just south of the Village, have townhouses and apartments. Most of these were built in the 1920s, and can be seen along St. Paul, Maumee, and Jefferson avenues, mostly west of Rivard Boulevard, and between Notre Dame and Cadieux south of the Village retail district.

There are retail and low-rise office buildings along Kercheval Avenue in the Village district, on Fisher Road near Grosse Pointe South High School, and along Mack Avenue bordering Detroit.
